"Someone is recreating the Krays' crimes," gasps Edward Buchan, jowls flapping like mottled windsocks beneath his investigative trilby. "It's not about pretence or an act. It's about being … [crash zoom, eyebrows] … A KRAY!"

Ah, Whitechapel. How do I love thee? Let me count the ways. Or at least allow me to hold your helmet while you chase another extra in leather gloves across some hastily assembled cobble-effect paving to a soundtrack of clanging pipes and slowed-down cow noises. Fifteen months after it disappeared into the implausible cockney ether, TV's least comprehensible crime drama returns for another three-part series. Let bewilderment be unconfined.

Those who enjoyed the inaugural run's expert blend of gaping plot holes and confusing shots of men in capes striding past archways will be delighted to discover the format remains virtually identical. There are more globular bruisers peering menacingly over plates of jellied eels in deserted pubs. More lines like: "The brain? It's gone!" and "My advice? Get better. Then get the hell outta Whitechapel." There is more clunking exposition, inexplicable editing, whooshing sepia skylines and Rupert Penry-Jones gulping like a beige carp over another scooped-out prosthetic cadaver. And there is another enigmatic bastard brutally recreating a series of notorious East End murders for reasons as yet unclear.

Following their 2009 spat with the apparently re-born Jack The Ripper, the team – eccentric amateur criminologist Buchan, chippy DS Miles (Phil Davis) and simpering milquetoast DI Chandler (Penry-Jones) – are now in hot pursuit of the Krays. The actual Krays? Yes, the actual Krays. Or at least a duo what thinks they is the Krays and is subsequently determined to wreak bloody revenge on all them scum what betrayed 'em "back in the day". The race is on to protect said scum before they get gutted like trout.

Woozy, blinky, double-vision camerawork frames every shot of suspected Kray and potential Krayee – a wholly disorienting device that evokes less an involving and possibly slightly supernatural primetime thriller, and more being in a washing machine with a Nine Inch Nails video in 1996. None of it makes much sense. But then, it doesn't have to. Whitechapel is an immersive experience. It has no truck with reality. It'd rather busy itself with a wonky "mood" montage of glinting knives, scowling B&W biffers, indistinct banging and oscillating archive news headlines than involve itself with logic or – heaven forfend – historical accuracy.

What's more, there is evidence to suggest that Whitechapel is well aware of its inherent preposterousness. At one point, apropos bugger all, the police station ceiling collapses because a "young offender" has apparently "blocked the plumbing". At another, purpling bloodhound DS Miles honks: "This is a scrap! Where the meanest, hardest bastard wins!" And there is an unexpected addition to the cast in the form of Peter Serafinowicz as the unimaginably unpleasant DCI Cazenove. He knows what he's doing. They all do. It takes brains to be this stupid. More power to its incomparably odd elbow.

So. Over to you. Looking forward to it, intcha? Or maybe you ain't. Either way, be a china and bung your thoughts below – and let us know after the show whether it lives up to expectations. Good or bad.

Talk show host Oprah Winfrey on Monday said she was not satisfied with the acquittal of a woman accused of abusing students at the her South African girls school.

Tiny Virginia Makopo, 30, was found not guilty of allegations that she improperly touched several teenage girls when she was a matron at the campus near Johannesburg soon after it opened in 2007, the South African Press Association reported Monday.

"We began this child molestation trial in July 2008," Winfrey said in a written statement. "More than two years later, I am profoundly disappointed at the outcome of the trial."

Winfrey -- who has spoken publicly about abuse she suffered as a child -- became personally involved in the abuse investigation after a student reported the alleged abuse in October 2007.

She cried for half an hour after receiving the call from the CEO of the Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls, and she then hired a team of American private investigators to work with South African police on the case, she said.

"I wanted to hire an independent team because my experience with child predators is that no one ever, ever abuses just one child," Winfrey said at the time.

Despite the verdict, Winfrey said she appreciated the efforts of the prosecutors and police, "who sought justice and treated the girls with the utmost care and respect."

"I will forever be proud of the nine girls who testified with the courage and conviction to be heard," Winfrey said.

When Winfrey opened the school at the beginning of 2007, she said she hoped it would provide opportunities to girls from poor backgrounds. She personally approved each of the students, many of whom were at the top of their classes.

Okay, so technically, Marshall Mathers actually "made it" about a decade ago. But after six solo albums, more than a dozen No. 1 singles and a gang of controversy surrounding both his personal and private life, CBS finally came a knockin' about a month ago when they decided to profile him for their award-winning news series, "60 Minutes." Just prior to performing at his Home and Home concert tour alongside Jay-Z at Comerica Park in Detroit, Em sat down with Anderson Cooper of "60 Minutes" for an exclusive interview that aired last night (October 10).

The two discussed a bunch of interesting topics, including Em's Detroit upbringing, his life as a bullied child, the use of profanity in his home, his struggles with drug addiction, and the fact that he once tried to read the entire dictionary in order to give himself enough ammo to use during rap battles.

However, we can't help but think that there are a few other things Cooper should have asked Eminem during their time together. If Em had granted RapFix the same type of access, there are a few burning questions we'd certainly ask him. To prove it, here's a list of questions that we would have asked one of the front-runners in MTV's Hottest MCs of 2010 series, which kicks off on October 18, while he was hangin' with Mr. Cooper.

QUESTION 1: Do you think you're the "Best Rapper Alive"?
Last year, a VIBE poll showed you were the No. 1 rapper in the world. Do you think you are? And how come you get all humble and start bigging up other rappers when people ask you this? Aren't rappers supposed to want to be considered the best? Give us a straight answer, Marshall!

QUESTION 2: What really happened between you and Mariah Carey?
Let's get this out on the table once and for all: Did you smash, homie? She might be past her prime (career-wise! Get your minds outta the gutter), but once upon a time, Mariah was the flyest chick in the game. That would have made for one pretty incredible double-date with Jay and Bey, no?

QUESTION 3: What's the dumbest thing you ever did under the influence of drugs or alcohol?
Know the guy at the end of the bar that always tells crazy stories? Like that one about the time he had one too many and ended up naked ... in the middle of a farm ... with two cows, three sheep and a pig. Um, yeah, those types of stories. If Em's personal life was half as crazy as the stuff he used to rap about, we just know he has a couple stories that would make an AA meeting look like a Bible study—and, of course, help keep some kid out there away from whatever the hell Em was on. Let's hear them!

QUESTION 4: If you could take back one thing you've done during the course of your career, what would it be?
No, really: what would it be? The time you agreed to appear in some flick called Da Hip Hop Witch? The time you jumped a dude with an unloaded gun? The time you decided recording songs like "Rain Man," "Big Weenie," and "Ass Like That" would be a good idea? This answer should be good.

QUESTION 5:Be honest, ten years after you recorded it, do you still text message Jay-Z like, "I GOT YOU!" every time you hear "Renegade"?
Ha! Put it this way: If we were you, we would. And we'd also have the song set as our ringtone for every time Jay called us. Hell, anytime anyone called us. Just sayin'.

QUESTION 6: Is it weird to you that you turned out to be a waaaay better parent than Britney Spears?
Like, really?! We're not saying Brit's not a good mother (though, for the record, we're also not saying she's a good mother) but if we saw you wearing a "#1 DAD" shirt today, we'd automatically think, 'Eminem's such a good father.' If we saw Brit wearing a "#1 MOM" shirt, we'd assume she spilled a cran and vodka on whatever she was wearing before it. Ten years ago, that whole line of thinking would have been completely reversed. Who'd have thunk?

QUESTION 7: What's with the cross you wear around your neck these days?
No offense, but we never took you for the religious type. What's the deal, dude? Is Jesus your homeboy, too?

QUESTION 8: How great did it feel to punch Vince Chase?
We love Vince on "Entourage." But that last scene last season was awesome. Like, Mike Tyson knocking out Zach Galifianakis in The Hangover awesome. Nice job.

QUESTION 9: How bad do you want to do the same thing to Nick Cannon?
Not to dwell on the Mariah Carey connection, but you do realize that Nick Cannon, the actor/producer/rapper/"America's Got Talent" host is still taking shots at you, right? Any chance you'll Vince Chase him, too? No? Please? PRETTY PLEASE?!

QUESTION 10: Is Dr. Dre really almost done Detox?
Well ... is he? If Mr. Cooper really wanted to get the Internets going nuts, he would have found out for us.

A new year has just begun and many of us are tightening our belts and looking for ways to save cash. Since food is one of the major expenditures for a family, it’s a natural place to try to spend less. Luckily, there is a way to save while still enjoying a great meal. This winter, resolve to return to your roots (onions, potatoes, turnips and rutabagas, to name a few). Locally grown root vegetables are abundant and cheap right now, not to mention healthy, delicious and filling when turned into hearty vegetable stews.

If you’ve never made a vegetable stew before there are a few things that will help insure your success. To begin with, you need to use the correct pot. Stews develop flavor gradually and require an hour (at least) of cooking time.  If your pot is too thin, you run the risk of scorching the ingredients at the bottom. An enamel-coated cast iron Dutch oven is the best choice—it’s large enough to hold everything comfortably, and heavy enough to protect the stew as it cooks.

Second, try to cut the vegetables into attractive (and similarly sized) shapes. Round vegetables like turnips and onions can be cut into large wedges as you would an apple or tomato. Potatoes slice easily into wedges, large cubes or short, fat rectangles. Very large vegetables such as rutabagas and squashes are best diced. And when you are cutting long roots like carrots and parsnips forget the coins—try a roll cut instead. To use this technique, place a carrot on your cutting board and make a diagonal cut near the skinny end. Then roll the entire carrot 180 degrees toward you and make a second diagonal cut (same direction) so that you end up with a triangular shape. Continue rolling and cutting until you have a pile of little wedges

Finally, a good vegetable stock (instead of plain water) can make a world of difference. There are many brands for sale, or you can easily make your own from vegetable scraps.

Jets pick off Chad Henne to beat nfl jerseysDolphins NFL Scores, NFL Picks & NFL Odds - In an important AFC East showdown, the New York Jets (1-1) travel to south Florida to meet the Miami Dolphins (2-0) for a Sunday Night Football Picks matchup. Both teams are coming off impressive NFL Picks victories against top teams, and the Jets want to make sure the close Philadelphia Eagles Jersey the gap on the first place Dolphins in the AFC East. If you are going to make a NFL Picks Bet tonight the NFL Odds makers have listed Miami Dolphins as -2 favorites.Mark Sanchez was coming off a rough home opener against the Baltimore New Orleans Saints Jersey Ravens, after which many fans and media members were wondering if Sanchez was the New York Jets answer at quarterback. Sanchez answered his critics in a big way against the Patriots, throwing for three touchdowns and 220 yards, and was the primary Carson Palmer Jersey reason for the team’s come-from-behind victory. Sanchez’s favorite target was tight end Dustin Keller who caught 7 passes for 115 yards and a touchdown. He’ll have to look for the tight end again this week as Braylon Edwards, the team’s top receiver, will dress, but not start, after a mid-week DUI. The Jets are already without WR Santonio Holmes who is sitting-out as part of a four-game league suspension. The other surprising turn-around was in the running game as LaDania Terrell Owens Jersey Tomlinson emerged as the leading rusher, eclipsing Shonn Greene, who had more carries but struggled with his productivity. Tomlinson has emerged as a “go-to” back and seems reenergized in Jet green and white. The Dolphins held down one of the NFL’s legendary quarterbacks in Brett Favre and have the Vikings reeling at 0-2 with a 14-10 NFL Picks victory earned by the defense. Miami forced Favre into committing 4 turnovers, including three interceptions. The turnovers offset their inability to stop All-Pro back Adrian Peterson who gained 145 yards and a touchdown. The Jets like to run the ball so the Dolphins linebackers Karlos Dansby and Cameron Wake involved in the run defense. The Dolphins like to pressure the quarterback and sacked Favre three times and pressured another half-dozen times. Sanchez does not take well to pressure so that could give the Dolphins an edge. This will be a hard-fought, low scoring game and the team with the least turnovers and mistakes, such as penalties, will win this NFL Picks game. This could be the Dolphins week if they force some Sanchez mistakes and stuff the run. Vegas-spreads.com Sunday Night Football Picks, look for it to be a close game throughout, so take the points in this one and beat the Las Vegas Odds makers.
